Work Experience

Digital Marketing Consultant, Omaha, Nebraska, 2017-Present. I advise small business owners on how to effectively, and strategically, reach their target audience through social media and live streaming. 

SCORR Marketing, Program Coordinator, Kearney | Omaha, Nebraska, 2016-2017. As the initial contact for my clients, I determined their various marketing needs and tailored options across digital and print advertising mediums to fulfill those needs. I oversaw these projects from conception to production by communicating with internal and external team members. To maintain deadlines and budget, I utilized Workamajig to effectively track short and long-term projects throughout their lifecycles. 

Kearney High School, Director of Marching Percussion, Kearney, Nebraska, 2014-2016.  Using my knowledge of the marching band activity, I schedule, build, and carry out group percussion curriculum and lessons.  By focusing on proper technique, musical awareness, and etiquette, I have led the thirty-person group to their highest competitive scoring seasons in the last twenty years.

Yamaha Corporation of America, Percussion Marketing Intern, Buena Park, California, 2015-2016. Under my supervision, the Yamaha “Game of the Week” campaign sky-rocketed the Yamaha Corporation of America’s Percussion Twitter account by reaching over 1 million Twitter users timelines.  This was a 46% increase from the previous year and propelled my division’s goal of becoming the foremost thought leader within our industry.             

Through my knowledge of current technology and trends, I researched, pitched, and implemented new channels, while educating internal staff on social media best practices to better Yamaha’s digital and social market share.  These technologies, best practices and channels included:

·         360° Camera with tripod, harness adapters, and memory cards

·         Determining key SEO influencers and strategic ways to better utilize their high search ranking

·         Educated internal staff on best practices for Twitter, Instagram, Periscope, Snapchat, and YouTube

As part of the Communications team, my responsibility is to create and maintain a consistent, creative, and informative brand voice that effectively communicates our new branding and foster discussion of key marketing trends through social media platforms.

The Omaha Chapter of the American Marketing Association is the local Chapter of the American Marketing Association, the world's largest nonprofit marketing association with more than 40,000 members. As the leading network for Omaha marketing professionals, the Omaha AMA Chapter serves to advance the practice of marketing by providing a forum for discussion and feedback on key issues affecting marketing professionals.

Yamaha "Sounds in the Summer" | Marching Percussion Educator / Counselor

Through the combined efforts of the Yamaha Corporation of America and the University of Nebraska at Kearney, middle to high school age music students from the surrounding area were able to attend a three day long marching band camp that covered technique, musicality, and leadership skills.  During the duration of my volunteer experience, I acted as a teaching aid to the hired clinician and a filled the role of head percussion counselor throughout the duration of the camp.  These duties included:

 - Planning and facilitating small group rehearsals
 - Teaching practice and rehearsal techniques
 - Fostering teamwork throughout the ensemble
 - Problem and conflict resolution
